Joyce is an internal medicine resident in the Stanbury Physician-Scientist Pathway (PSP) at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She studied theoretical math and music at Swarthmore College. She was a Sarnoff fellow during medical school at Dartmouth and studied the microstructure of the heart under the guidance of Alan Garfinkel and Daniel Ennis at UCLA. As an aspiring physician scientist, Joyce wishes to pursue a career studying the interactions among the microstructure, mechanics, and fluid dynamics in the heart (especially the right heart), as well as bridging imaging findings with molecular mechanisms behind ventricular remodeling and reverse remodeling.
