Postdoctoral Fellow
Upon completion of his M.D. and general practice training, Salva joined Department of Cardiology at University Medical Center Groningen (The Netherlands) as a research fellow. During his Ph.D. and brief postdoc at UMC Groningen, his work focused on pharmacological and metabolic interventions in experimental heart failure, with a particular interest in (cardiac) ketone metabolism. He is interested in pursuing cardiology training and hopes to have a career as physician-scientist. He recently joined Dr. Nguyen’s lab to further pursue his scientific interests and explore potential future careers in cardiology.
